Tripwire was the solution that most suggested.
I'll take a look at tripwire and see if it will meet our requirements.
Thanks to all who responded. I got over 20 replies and the majority of
those came within an hour of posting my question.

Hi

I'm hoping that this diverse group can save me some hours of searching...
I am looking for a program that will monitor several directories and let
me know when the files in those directories have been modified or
changed in some way.
We use RCS for our developers to check code in/out of development and
production but being a small shop some of the developers also help with
some admin issues and have root access and could bypass the RCS process.
What I've been asked to provide to our auditors is some proof that we
are able to monitor what code is running on our production server. If
someone can point me in a direction, (or set me straight) it would be
greatly appreciated.
My environment is an AlphaServer 4100 and Tru64 v4.0D (moving to v5.1b
and some updated hardware shortly).

Thanks in advance,

Gary LaBonte
