SUMMARY (correction): TruCluster 5.1b/HSG80 Unit Offsets

Thank you to James Kurtenbach, looks my use of the term "selective
presentation"
was incorrect. I will post James response :

Selective storage presentation is available at the unit level. The
following command would allow d101 to selectively be presented to only
cluster1 and cluster2, but no other nodes (connections).

HSG80> set d101 disable=all enable=(cluster1, cluster2)

Thank you to all that replied,

James Kurtenbach
Frank Chu-Cheong
Lucien HERCAUD
Henk Kelle
Michael Wheelock.

The problem lies with my unit offsets, and the fact that my HSG is in
transparent mode.

For transparent mode, the units 0-99 show on port1, and units 100-199
show on port2
as opposed to multi-path where units 0 to 199 show on both ports.

Therefore, for the system to see it, taking into account the unit
offset, the units should
be between 21 - 99 for port 1 and 121-199 for port 2.

Why the unit offsets ?, this HSG is currently shared with a Tru64 V4.0f
cluster, and I simply wanted
to separate the two enviroments, I think this is called selective
presentation. We also have another
SAN, that is a mix of Windows and Tru64, again we use unit offsets to
separate the two environements.

Hi managers

I am putting together a test cluster, and I am having a problem adding a
device.

On the hsg80 the unit offsets are 20 and 120 for the cluster members.
The unit is named D101.
When I do a hwmgr -scan scsi then -show scsi/-view dev the device does
not show up.

Is this a problem with my offsets ?? I was under the impression (with
tru64 V5.x) that I would see all devices
above the assigned unit offsets.

Thank You

Darren
