BOOTP/NFS issues

More info on my setup....

My system setup has 8 computers. All are Alpha VME 5/480 SBCs. I have
one master with a hard disk, and 7 clients. I'm running Digital Unix 4.0D
with the latest patch kit (9 I believe). The version of my JOIND server
is v3.1a. All computers are connected through a 100mbps switch.
Upgrading above 4.0D is not in option unfortunately.

I'm curious, in the Alpha SRM console it looks like I can hardcode some of
the network paramaters. Can I program them all and use the NVRAM option?
This way I could totally skip the BOOTP part and just go straight to
downloading the kernel. I'm not sure what all the ewa0_etc..etc.. options
are for this though, and what is required. Anyone know the difference
between ewa0_GINET_ADDR and ewa0_INET_ADDR (I believe that's how they are
written, no idea what the G means). Also there are some options for loop
count retries???? anyone know exactly what these do? I think I might be
able to tweak these guys into working correctly every time.

Thanks for the help thus far,
Joseph
