Are there any system administrators using the web
based WSEA tool, or CCAT, or any type of event report
notification automation with these tools? In other
words, are you personally using them vs. just your HP
support using them, and how. Also, how are you using
these in relation to other data/event/error collection
tools such as sysman/sysman station, EVM, insight
manager, etc.
I have upgraded to the latest WEBES took kit. It is
quite different than the version I was running. WSEA
has replaced CA, there is no Unicenter, and CCAT is
different. Everything is sent to the same director
and managed through the same web interface.
Although I had a previous version of WEBES installed
and the director daemon was running, I never used any
of it. I still used Uerf or DECevent to break down
the binary errorlog. Now I'm thinking I should take
advantage of these tools in the event of a crash or to
sense hardware failure. This would just be for me,
and would not be automatically sent to HP. Are these
tools worth it for what I'm trying to do, or are there
better ways?
