Memory Channel -> Gig-E

We have a 2-node DS20E cluster running 5.1A. We are looking to add a
third node. Taking out the memory channel cards and switching over to
gigabit ethernet for the cluster interconnect is attractive from a cost
viewpoint. Is anyone using gig-E for that? I'm interested in success as
well as horror stories. Is there any noticable performance difference
between the two?
