# cxx -V
Compaq C++ V6.5-038 for Digital UNIX V4.0F (Rev. 1229)
Compiler Driver V6.5-038 (cxx) cxx Driver
# uname -a
OSF1 csgbuild6.ana.aastra.com V4.0 1229 alpha
Download the compiler pack here:
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/C-CXX/tru64/cxx/CXX651V38.tar
There is a later CXX651V40.tar in that directory, byt I haven't tried it.
To use binaries from these compiles, target systems need an updated RTL:

Subject: Compaq C++ compiler
I would like to install the latest version of C++ which I have from the
SW products library, namely v6.5, but the sw compatibility says that it
is only supported on Tru64 v5.1 and up and I have v4.0f (with C++ v6.2).
Why is a compiler dependent on the OS and is there anyway around this,
e.g. installing RTLs, C libs, etc? What is the latest version of C++
which is supported on Tru64 v4.0f? My version is pretty old.
Regards,
Peter
