Thank you to Dr. Martin Körfer [koerfer_at_mpch-mainz.mpg.de] and Lanier, John
[john.lanier_at_hp.com] for their quick answers who give me some ideas.
The volume was available so the solution was to create a virtual disk as
JBOD.
