Ever since we upgraded from 5.0a to 5.1b my superiors and co-workers =
have been commenting on the perfromance of the server as being not as =
good as it once was.. Am I to beleive that all the kernel tuning that =
was previously applied may no longer be there or not apply any more? =
The server is an ES40 with 4 cpu's and 10 gigs of ram. It is tied to =
redundant HSG80's and 40 disks. It is mostly IO intensive database =
searching/updating going on and it does seem to have slowed a bit. Were =
there significant changes in the kernel as far as IO goes? Also were =
there changes as far as Semaphores go as well. We have had a few errors =
from the database engine since the upgrade as well.
