Hi,
I've posted once before about this topic, but now that I know a little
more and have tried a little more, I'd like to take another stab at it.
I'm trying to get my system to work with the Promise UltraTrak RM4000 Disk
Array.
I am now running Tru64 4.0F and was able to make the device giving me
trouble work on a Alphaserver DS10 with an Ultra160 SCSI card. The
problem is when I put them on my Alpha VME 5/480 SBC, they hang at boot
up. The SBC has a SE SCSI controller, but the array is suppose to work
with SE, and just in case it can't I tried an SE-LVD converter box, which
had no effect.
This is the output with the generic kernel loading:
(note, this kernel LOADS FROM THE ARRAY JUST FINE!?!)

The thing is, the OS is installed on this array from the DS10, the DS10
works PERFECTLY fine. The SBC can boot the genvmunix kerenel and load
drivers for all my hardware, it's just when it hits that SIOP SCSI driver
load it hangs forever. The SBC has the latest firmware. Is there any
kind of debugging or kernel stepping I could do with the SCSI driver for
the SBC's controller to determine the exact hang point?
Thanks in advance,
Joseph
