Thanks to Thom Blinn and Roberto Romani. RR informed me that the LED
pattern indicated it was a failure with memory initialization. Though I did
not state this in my original post, I had reseated the memory and removed
the pci cards on by one to eliminate them as possible culprits. I moved the
memory to a different pair of slots and that seems to have worked. I
erroneously thought that poor memory seating would fail 100% of the time.
Oringal post below:
I have a pws that has trouble booting. It will power up, the disks spin up
and I can open/close the cdrom, but do not get to the SRM prompt. There are
eight intermal LED's that I am sure are for troubleshooting this and many
other problems, but I couldn't find a clear description of what they mean.
Does anyone have a pdf or html document that will describe this?
My LED's look like this when hung:
XX0X
OOOO
Where X is on and O is off.
Also, any help in determining why this is happening would be appreciated.
Thanks,
fyb
