Thank to Dr. Blinn and Nikola Milutinovic
Both suggested I try booting with the generic kernel.
I did and the system did indeed boot. I configured a new kernel,
and all is now well. I guess my original kernel somehow became corrupted
by the unexpected sudden power loss.
Thanks,

Subject: platform not supported error
Hi Managers,
Server: Alphaserver 4100 : Tru64 V5.1A : 512 MB memory : 1 CPU
After an extended power outage (UPS was drained too), The system will no
longer boot.
It tries to boot, but when its loading the vmunix symbol table, i get:
PANIC: CPU0 Platform not supported by this kernel configuration.
Then the core dumps. Any idea what may be wrong?
I want to see if there is anything I can do before calling fro hardware
support.
