Hi Tru64-managers,
There is a UNIX box uxhost02 which commands rlogin/rsh/rcp are allowed.
(from .rhosts file) We can rlogin from uxhost01 and uxhost03 to this
machine.
Recently, we noted all rlogin sessions will be closed automatically after
idling for a while, and leave us with following message:
uxtyo01 : root : / # rlogin: read: Connection timed out.
rlogin:
connection closed.
uxaoc01 : root : / #
I tried to login the machine, and enter <w> command to check current active
session. The system shows the session which was actually killed is still
active.
uxtyo01 : root : / # w
15:32 up 126 days, 23:55, 2 users, load average: 3.23, 5.63, 5.89
User tty from login_at_ idle JCPU PCPU what
root pts/0 uxaoc01 13:47 1:45 -ksh
<<-- still there
root pts/1 uxaoc01 15:10 w
uxtyo01 : root : / #
Then, I enter <last> command to check the login record, the killed session
is indicated as “still logged in”. And you can also see other sessions
which were killed actually all have logged in for 02:10.
uxtyo01 : root : / # last | grep root | more
root pts/1 uxaoc01 Mon May 24 15:10 still logged in
<<-- killed actually
root pts/1 uxaoc01 Mon May 24 15:02 - 15:05 (00:03)
root pts/0 uxaoc01 Mon May 24 13:47 still logged in
root pts/0 uxaoc01 Mon May 24 13:34 - 13:37 (00:03)
root pts/0 uxaoc01 Mon May 24 13:25 - 13:32 (00:07)
root pts/3 uxaoc01 Mon May 24 11:52 - 12:07 (00:15)
root pts/2 uxhkg02 Mon May 24 11:05 - 13:16 (02:10)
<<--
root pts/2 uxhkg02 Mon May 24 11:02 - 11:05 (00:02)
root pts/1 uxhkg02 Mon May 24 11:02 - 13:13 (02:10)
<<--
root pts/0 uxhkg03 Mon May 24 10:43 - 12:53 (02:10)
<<--
root pts/0 uxaoc01 Mon May 24 08:08 - 08:10 (00:02)
Moreover, sometimes rlogin doesn’t work intermittantly.
uxaoc01 : root : / # rlogin uxtyo
uxtyo: Connection timed out
uxaoc01 : root : / #
Any feedback will be appreciated.
Thanks,
KYLAM
