Dear Managers,

A little more than an hour ago I asked:

>I am testing a HP SuperDLT, identified as COMPAQ SDLT320, on a Tru64
>UNIX V4.0G system. vdump writes correctly to the tape, but when
>finished the tape is unloaded, and the log has a message
>
>unmapped scsi density code (0x49) - DDR entry needed
>
>The highest entry I can find in a /etc/ddr.dbase file is for a Tru64
>5.1 system:
> scsi_tape_density[0x48] = "131000_bpi" 131000 0
>
>Can anybody help with the corresponding entry for code 0x49 ?

and within minutes I had answers from
Fred N. van Kempen <fred_at_microwalt.nl>
Olle Eriksson <olle_at_cb.uu.se>
Johan Brusche <johan.brusche_at_hp.com>

Edit ddr.dbase as follows
scsi_density_table_size = 0x4a
scsi_tape_density[0x49] = "190000_bpi" 190000 0
then use ddr_config command to compile new /etc/dbase

which, needless to say, solved my problem immediately. Thanks to
everybody!

/Bjorn
