Hi managers,
thanks for the great amount of answers, most of them pointed out that rsync is
open source software that easily can be installed using "gcc" on Tru64-Unix 5.1a
The source is:
> ftp://rsync.samba.org/pub/rsync/
or
>http://samba.anu.edu.au/rsync/
Franz Fischer gave me also the advise to install it using "cc":
-----------
CC=cc CFLAGS='-std1 -O' \
./configure --prefix=/usr/local --with-included-popt
make
make install
---------
But also precompiled binaries are told to be available
Iain Barker, Jenny Butler told about rpm-packages
>there is a precompiled binary on the HP open source CDROM
>which is included with Tru64 operating system media.
OK but it is in the 5.1b-kit !!
Links for Tru64-binaries are reported by Iain Barker, J.Schüle
>http://h30097.www3.hp.com/demos/ossc/html/rsync.html
>http://h30097.www3.hp.com/demos/ossc/html/shwindex.htm
Thanks again for the multiple responses also to the people I could not state by
name, due to their great number
Martin

original question:
we run Tru64-Unix V5.1a on AlphaServers and heard about a version of the
"rsync"-command (standard in "linux")
to use for data-synchronisation on those servers.
Anyone can provide me a "link" to download a matching "rsync" ???
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks in advance
