4.0F and UID length "Question Refresh."

Hello Managers,
Let me refresh my question.
Is there an issue with uses that have a specific UID length and 4.0F
We have some users with a UID longer than normal characters who can not
login to the server. This is fixed in a later version. But the question is
directed to find out if there is a patch for this that can be applied
without an OS upgrade.
