Thanks for the quick replies from Bill Kirk and Adam Granham. As they
mentioned there was nothing that I had to do to enable load balancing. My
issue was in the tests that I was running.
diskx seemed to use only one hba where as fsx did load balance between the
hba's correctly.
I would be interested if anyone has ran any similiar test on Tru64 to an XP
array. I'm getting about 15mbs using the fsx test and was wondering if that
would be considered good or bad. I'm using one raidgroup configured with
3+1 parity for the test. The drives are 146g.
Thanks,
Howard
Original Question:
I have been reading that Tru64 5.1b supports dynamic load balancing
between
hba's and had a few questions on the configuration and verification that
it
is working correctly.
1) Does this only work if you have multiple hba's going to the same
switch
versus having two hba's and configuring them for redundancy?
2) Is there anything that has to be set up to enable this?
3) Anything special that needs to be done on the storage?
4) Is there a write paper on how to set this up? I have read the admin
guide and didn't find anything.
We have a pair of GS1280's in a cluster connected to an XP128 array.
Thanks,
Howard Arnold
