I have a Tru64 5.1A PK6 system using Java 1.4.2-2 from HP. The HP site said version 1.4.2-6 contains the DST patch. I'd rather upgrade than run TZupdate.
From the instructions, it says nothing about stopping Java or saving off the existing version. Also, I don't see an upgrade version, but only to install the entire 1.4.2-6 SDK.
If it installs it in the default /usr/opt/java142/bin directory, which is linked from /usr/bin/java, it must temporarily break the link, or cause problems with the currently running Java.
Has anyone done this? Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Rich
