I wasn't able to compile re2c because I don't have the dec c++ compiler and
I didn't have a working gcc either.
My attempts to build the latest gcc have failed.
I ended up digging out an older gcc in setld package so I didn't have to
build it.
After this older gcc was installed, I was able to build re2c and it passed
its own self tests, so I hope it will work once included in other packages
(namely php).
