Hi Managers,
Could you help me on the following topic ?
We have replaced a faulty tape drive in our HSZ by a new one.
What do I need to do to see it from Unix (V5.1A) without rebooting the
server ?
I already tried several things with the commands hwmgr and dsfmgr, but
without success :
I did first "hwmgr -scan scsi ".
When I do "hwmgr -show scsi", I get this output for the tapes :
SCSI DEVICE DEVICE DRIVER NUM DEVICE FIRST
HWID: DEVICEID HOSTNAME TYPE SUBTYPE OWNER PATH FILE VALID PATH
0: 18 gnvasapps tape none 0 1 (null) [2/6/0]
51: 4 gnvasapps tape none 0 1 tape0 [2/3/0]
52: 5 gnvasapps tape none 4 1 tape1
70: 12 gnvasapps tape none 0 1 tape2 [1/3/1]
And "hwmgr -view device" gives this :
HWID: Device Name Mfg Model Location
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--
51: /dev/ntape/tape0 DEC TZ87 (C) DEC bus-2-targ-3-lun-0
52: /dev/ntape/tape1 DEC TZ87 (C) DEC bus-2-targ-6-lun-0
70: /dev/ntape/tape2 DEC TZ88 (C) DEC bus-1-targ-3-lun-1
The replaced tape was tape1 on bus-2-targ-6-lun-0.
Thank you for your help,
