clearVISN Router Configurator
Version 3.0 - Highlights

The clearVISN Router Configurator is a PC based application that creates and loads configuration files for routers that run the Distributed Routing Software (DRS). It supports the 8 hardware platforms that DRS runs on and allows multiple routers to be configured. The clearVISN Router Configurator will configure most of the features supported in the DRS, a command line scripting facility allows extensions for less common configurations.
By centralizing the configuration of the routers it frees network managers from having to manage and manipulate individual devices on the network.

The application provides:

• Standard Windows GUI interface for creating router configurations.
• Auto-validation and default options Minimizes errors and the amount of information that a network manager must supply.
• Context sensitive GUI displays only those options that require configuration, minimizing the amount of information displayed to the network manager.
• Supports off-line generation of router configurations, and loading/reloading of configurations when connected to the network.
• Supports all platforms running the Distributed Routing Software.
• Built in BOOTP and TFTP server. Integrated into the application, providing support for loading other network systems.
• Kit includes GUI versions of Digital Trace Facility (DTF).
• Integrated with the clearVISN software suite.
• Provides a browser that allows you to organise router configurations, and easily locate the configuration for a router.
• For routers supporting Telesaving features a Web Based Monitor is provided to display budget settings.
• Allows generation of multiple configuration files for routers, allowing the network manager to create experimental, backup, or template configurations.
• On-Line Help, and On-Line manual in PDF format.
