DECforms is a software product for the development and
deployment of forms-based user interfaces for interactive
applications running on OpenVMS systems. Not only does
DECforms provide a complete user interface management
system (UIMS) that gives applications the look and feel
of a forms interface, DECforms also supplies a robust set
of dialog management and validation functions to control
the user interface at application run time.
DECforms greatly simplifies overall system
development, testing, and maintenance by separating forms
processing code from application code. DECforms enables
software developers to target multiple types of users
with a single application, by allowing them to tailor
user interfaces to specific user needs.
DECforms was designed with performance-sensitive
transaction processing (TP) environments in mind. It can
serve as a powerful front-end for either distributed or
centralized TP applications, including the ACMS
TP monitor.
