This lexical function allows a process to obtain information for a
device to which the process has not necessarily assigned a channel.
The F$GETDVI function returns information on all items that can be
specified with the $GETDVI system service. In addition to the items
that the $GETDVI system service allows, the F$GETDVI function allows
you to specify the item EXISTS.
