The HP Advanced Server for OpenVMS
and HP PATHWORKS for OpenVMS
(Advanced Server) are OpenVMS layered applications that provide a network operating system compatible with
Microsoft networking technology. The main features provided by these server
products include the following:
- They integrate the diverse PC clients, servers, network transports,
and protocols in an enterprise computing environment, protecting
customers' current investments
- They integrate the combined strengths and rich application set
of the Microsoft Windows Server with the proven availability,
reliability, scalability, and security of OpenVMS and OpenVMS
Clusters
- They include local and wide area domain support, enabling OpenVMS
to participate fully in a Windows network
- They allow Windows users using native Microsoft products
and utilities such as Windows Explorer - easy, seamless access
to OpenVMS file and printer resources
- They allow operators and administrators using Windows administration
utilities on a Windows server or client workstation to administer
Advanced Server users and the shared disks and printers

HP's recommended OpenVMS file and print server for Alpha systems.
Based on Microsoft Windows (LAN Manager 3.0 technology) and providing
more compatibility with Microsoft products than the PATHWORKS servers.

HP's OpenVMS file and print server supported on VAX as well
as Alpha systems, including OpenVMS Version 6.2. Based on Microsoft
Windows (LAN Manager 3.0 technology). For customers who are not
ready to (or cannot) upgrade their OpenVMS systems to OpenVMS Alpha
version 7.2-2 or later.

for integration with Microsoft Windows.
