Choosing how often to check for new mail
It's up to you how often Outlook Express checks for e-mail while you are connected to the Internet. You can choose to check for new mail as often as you like -- even once a minute.

Here's how:

  1. On the Tools menu in Outlook Express, click Options.
  2. On the General tab, make sure Check for new messages every is selected.
  3. Specify the number of minutes that you want.

Options dialog box

Note: If you clear the check box, Outlook Express will not check for new messages automatically. It will check only when you select Check for new messages on the Tools menu.
