Using the Address bar to run programs on your computer
In Windows 98, you can run programs from the Address bar in the browser. Just type the program name (including its path) in the Address bar, and then press ENTER. For example, to run Microsoft Word, you might type:

c:\msoffice\winword\winword.exe.
