Using the Quick Launch bar to get to frequently-used items
Want quick access to a document, Web page, or program? You could add the item to your Favorites list, but you would still have to click several times to get to what you want. With Windows 98, you have another choice for shortcuts: the Quick Launch bar on the taskbar. Always visible, the Quick Launch bar is great for those items you need to reach fast.

If you don't see the Quick Launch bar, right-click the taskbar, point to Toolbars, and then click Quick Launch.

To add a button to the Quick Launch bar

  • Drag a program or document icon, Web page link, or even a desktop shortcut to the Quick Launch bar on the taskbar.

To remove a button from the Quick Launch bar

  • Right-click the button you want to remove, and then click Delete.
