The lps32 we have is a printserver run by all of our vaxes. I am the lone
osf/1 weenie.
I am trying to print to an lps32 with an address of 1.2.3.4 (for example).
I have the following /etc/printcap entry:
lp|lp0|0|tstlps:\
:lf=/usr/adm/lperr:\
:lp=:\
:rm=tstlps:\
:rp=tstlps:\
:sd=/usr/spool/lpd:
tstlps is set for the correct ip address. I am on a DEC 3000X running
osf1 3.0 with the base save set installed.
When I try to print I get:
no feedback on the command line, but when I run lpstat:
[Raven]/usr/users/mhatz> lpstat _Ptstlps
Requests on lp:
raven.phs.com: Thu Jan 12 11:42:08 1995: waiting for tstlps to come up
Rank Pri Owner Job Files Total Size
connection to tstlps is down
But I know the connection isn't:
PING tstlps.phs.com (1.2.3.4): 56 data bytes

Thanks for any hints.
