SUMMARY: Out of ptys

My apologies for not mentioning the operating system (OSF/1 v3.0).

Almost all the replies suggested me to use MAKEDEV to create more
ptys in /dev directory. man pages on MAKEDEV explain it in detail.
Only one reply suggested me to increase MAXUSER kernel parameter
and rebuild the kernel, but I have not tried it yet.
