I got a couple of suggestions of things to try to get sound out
of the RRD43, but to no avail. The most promising looking suggestion
had me issue a couple of 'scu' commands to reset the device and the
bus.
Another suggestion was to get the MultiMedia Extensions, but this seems
to be overkill for what I want to be doing.
I'm no whiz at SCSI, but am beginning to think it may be a problem
with the CAM software under V3.0 (especially since I have the same problem
on 2 different RRD43s.) In playing with xmcd, when I move the volume
control bar, I get a spew of messages that read:
CD audio: SCSI command fault on /dev/rrz4c:
Opcode=0x15 Status=0x0
Hopefully that will mean something to someone. :)
