We have two 2100/500 running OSF/1 2.1B. They are connected to a private
network using extra "DE435 EtherWORKS Turbo PCI"-cards. The private network is
only used by these two hosts and is running on Twisted-Pair via a hub.
The network is not heavy loaded, but we are getting collisionrates from netstat
in the range 20-30%! The manual says the cards can run full-duplex ethernet
and that this is controlled via software. My suspicion is that the cards are
running full-duplex but the connecting hub is not! Can I control this from
OSF/1?
Digital has not been able to give me a straight answer. Their guess is that the
machines are to fast for the ethernet algorithms.
Are the cards running full-duplex under OSF/1? Has anyone experienced anything
similar?
Please help! I will summarise!
/Mats
