Can anybody shed any light on the following problem ...
I'm attempting to run a Sun 3/60 (diskless) off of an Alpha 2100 running
OSF v3.0, the aim is to use the Sun under Xkernel as a pure X terminal.
During the setup it is necessary for the Sun to retrieve it's boot file
from the Alpha via TFTP, I realise that TFTP is not secure, but I believe
DEC's/OSF's extensions may be causing my problems.
The boot request correctly calls the Alpha TFTP process, and requests the
correct filename (it's mac address in hex), but the Alpha refuses to serve
that file, I've monitored the network communication!
Currently the files reside in /usr/tftp directory, so I've modified the
inetd.conf entry as per the manual page to 'tftp -r /usr/tftp', ie. all
unqualified files should be made relative to /usr/tftp. The file to be
retrieved is readable, and I've tried all combinations in the /etc/tftptab
file (which by the way, doesn't seem to like just the directory name, but
individual files ...)
I can verify the above via a normal interactive TFTP session also, so I
don't believe this is due to any Sun problem, just pure TFTP ...
Any pointers would be much appreciated ...
