NFS mounting from alien systems - problems

Hi,

This is prob. a FAQ but i've scoured the manuals and everything I can
find and just about know the manual pages back to front with no help,
so I thought I'd hassle this list.

I want to mount directory x from a NFS server. This NFS server works
ok with other systems, but when I try to mount under OSF/1 V3.0B it
says:

Bad MNT RPC: /var/spool/rwho_at_peladon.rmit.edu.au: RPC: Authentication error; why = Invalid client credential

(peladon is a Sony RISC machine running NEWS-OS).

I also tried it with a Sun (SunOS 4.1.3_U1B) but no luck either.

I tried specifying the nfsv2 and v3 flags in the fstab as options and
all kinds of things like that, but it won't let me in.

I even tried in the exports:

/var/spool/rwho root=0

(hackers please note, this has been removed :) )

but it still wouldn't let me in.

Does anyone have any ideas?

-richard
