Many of our users follow the old fashioned edit, compile, link run
method of code development. We have found thast one must wait a few
seconds after quiting an edit before trying to compile - same for
C and Fortran - otherwise the compiler uses the old copy of the file!
Has anyone else seen this ? Can it be that the system takes a long time to
flush the buffers to disk even though emacs or vi returns the user to
the command prompt ?
