Hello,
I'm trying to use a HP SCSI disk on a DEC 3000/600S running OSF/1 2.0. I can
format it (newfs) and mount it but, after a few minutes of intense use (tar),
the station hangs and I have to press "reset".
I followed the good advices of Tom Blinn and Susan Feng (messages posted on that
list on 5 Jan and 11 Jan 1995). I did a:
disklabel -rw /dev/rrz0c foobar
newfs /dev/rrz0c foobar
I also tried to write a disktab entry (old way) and to use it but I got the
same symptoms.
The disk is installed on the internal SCSI chain of the Alpha (together with
the system disk). Fast SCSI is enabled. Is it legal/possible?
scu's "show device" prints:
Vendor Identification: HP
Product Identification: C3323-300
Firmware Revision Level: 4269
Here is the output of uerf (the offending disk is rz0, unit 0 on the first
SCSI chain):

I have Micropolis and Seagate disks on the same box (but on the external SCSI
chain) and they work fine.
