Aaaaaaaahhhhh!
An hour ago, my 2-CPU-275-MHz alpha crashed with the following message (and it
repeats the message when I try to boot it again!):
ADVFS INTERNAL ERROR: dealloc_bits_page: can't clear a bit twice!
ADVFS: dmnId = 2f27ad07.00052bda, vd = 5, pg = 16, wd = 654, mask = 000000ff

panic (cpu 0): advfs inconsistency
syncing disks... done
The advfs-filesystem it is complaining about is a 10 GB fs made up of five
2 GB disks. It is the only advfs-filesystem on the machine. Is there something
that can be done to salvage the data on the disk or even to fix the problem?
Digital in Sweden will not be able to help me for at least 14 hours. (We have a
four-hour service contract - but it's evening now in Sweden.) (And four
Digital-hours is more like 8 human hours...) PLEASE HELP!
I was recently told by a engineer from Digital that there are no Advfs-
patches availiable for 3.0B. Is this true? Have all the patches availiable for
3.0 really been incorporated into 3.0B?
/Mats
