To get a better handle on the problem try writing to a file. Look at the
characters at the beginning of the file. Standard Postscript MUST begin
with %! on the very first line. With our problem (with WordPerfect) the
software was taking advantage of HP extensions which allows other characters
to control the printer before and during a PS print job. We believe that
OSF must have been seeing these files as other than PostScript and wrapping
them for PostScript printing, thus making the HP extensions appear as part of
the print data. WordPerfect has supplied us with a fix by having us modify
the driver. Hope this helps some.
