Problem with VNODE table full

Hi,

I have look through the previous mails and have found 1 or 2 related to the
above problem, but my question is slightly different.

Although the solution is to increase MAXUSERS in the kernel, this is already
set to 128 for an AlphaServer 2300 with 15 users on so is already somewhat
excessive. Talking to the DEC support people, they say that there is some
sort of call you can make (something like F USER) that could be put into a
program to monitor the VNODE table activity etc.

Has anyone written anything to monitor the VNODE table, or can anyone give
me a way of
trying to see which process is using up the VNODE resources as I believe it
is something
buggy rather than a real resource issue.

Many thanks in advance.
