Thanks to all who responded to my question about "growing" a filesystem using
LSM (Knut Helleboe, Mike Matthews, Tom Blinn, Paul Rockwell). I was missing a
key concept here, which was that once you have a UFS filesystem built on top of
a volume, you can increase the size of the volume using LSM commands, but your
UFS filesystem won't know about it. You have to do another newfs on the expanded
volume, then restore your data from backup. Guess it isn't quite the piece of
cake I originally thought! Apparently if I were using AdvFS, it would be much
easier. Oh, well.
