  Hello Manager,

I want to clear up some confusion over 4mm DAT tapes. I believe I have been
given some duff information. So I'll bounce my understanding off yourselves.

DAT tapes come in different certifications . Is the summary table below an
  accurate picture.

Len of tape DDS DDS III DDS2

  60m 1.3G 1.3G 1.3G
  90m -- 2G 2G
  120m -- -- 4G

The space listed is raw capacity before data compression is used.

With a large number of DAT drives on the market, is there a good manufacturer

of reliable DAT tapes out there ?

The reason for my question is that I have had a lot of problems with the HP
DDS2 tapes & would keep clear of them.

Is there a good manufacture , experience has taught me not just to go by the
  tape certification.

  Many thanks

  Barry
