Hi,
Last tuesday we ran into a problem with vdiskquota on an Alpha 2100 with
OSF/1 3.0A. We use ADVFS for the /usr filesystem.
The /etc/fstab for /usr looks like:
usr_domain#usr /usr advfs rq,userquota,groupquota
So diskquota are enabled but no quota are set for any users.
Taking a look at the user and group quota files i saw the following
-rw-r----- 1 root operator 30791073792 May 11 16:24 /usr/quota.group
-rw-r----- 1 root operator 29784449024 May 10 14:19 /usr/quota.user
^^^^^^^^^^^
Considering the 6 GB diskspace that i have these numbers seem rather big.
I tried the following to fix the problem:
* remove the quota files with: rm quota.* but this qives me a "permission
denied" error.
* the same goes for "cp /dev/null quota.user"
* then i tried a "vquotacheck -va" which took rather long but in the end
appeared to have done nothing. The filesize of the quota files remained
the same.
* Then i called DEC. They suggested the previous three options and
are now still trying to think of a fourth...
If anyone has such fourth suggestion i would very much like to hear about
it.
