The README.perl5 from
ftp://src.doc.ic.ac.uk/packages/mirror/, dated
November 22, 1994, states the following:
mirror does not work reliably with perl5. The perl5-patches found in this
directory go a long way towards fixing things but I am still getting
reports of serious problems. For now I recommend sticking with perl4
unless you unusually brave!
Is this still the case? We're using Perl5 with majordomo. I'd like
to use mirror, but would rather not use perl4. I honestly don't even
know what would be involved with using two different versions of
Perl on the same machine.
It would seem that since November (5 months), someone would have
fixed mirror to run with perl5. Is this not yet the case? Does
anybody have any info?
Thanks,
Jennifer
