"Hesiod functionality is not supported on Digital UNIX unlike ULTRIX (unless
you are using the DECathena product).

You'll have to use NIS. This is compatible with what the rest of the
UNIX world does - unlike using Hesiod under ULTRIX which was not
compatible."
