HPLJ4 JetDirect via telnet port

Back in 1992 we purchased an HPLJ4 with a JetDirect card, and set it
up with a queue on a VAX, using Multinet to drive it. As the only
"supported" hosts were HP-UX and SunOS, and the vendor had not heard of
Multinet (or VAX/VMS) we were not supplied with any software, but the
system was simple to configure with Multinet, as a telnet device on
port 9100. The card (firmware revision A.01.00) only supports the port
9100 interface, not lpd.

We would now like to be able to use the alpha as the print host, and
I'm hoping someone on the list has done this already and can give me
some pointers.

Thanks,
        David
