I am having troubles setting up a remote printer. I am going from an Alpha
running OSF/1 3.0 to a VAX runnimg VMS 5.5-2 to an HP LaserJet 4M PLUS. The
VAX prints to the Hp using PathWorks for Mac.
Here is my printcap file:
lp3|lp3|mis_lj4:\
:af=/usr/adm/lp3acct:\
:ct=remote:\
:if=/usr/lbin/hplaser4psof:\
:lf=/usr/adm/lp3err:\
:lp=:\
:mx#0:\
:of=/usr/lbin/hplaser4psof:\
:pl#66:\
:ps=PS:\
:pw#80:\
:rm=arthur.spcc.com:\
:rp=mis_lj4:\
:rw:\
:sd=/usr/spool/lpd3:\
:xf=/usr/lbin/xf:
here is the que setup on the VAX as well as the multinet setups:
$ sh que/all/full mis_lj4
Printer queue MIS_LJ4, idle, on ARTHUR::"IR LJ 4MP_at_SPCC 01",
mounted form LTR_12 (stock=PLAIN_PAPER)
/BASE_PRIORITY=4 /DEFAULT=(FEED,FORM=LTR_12 (stock=PLAIN_PAPER))
/LIBRARY=MSAP$DEVCTL /OWNER=[SYSTEM] /PROCESSOR=MSAP$SYMBIONT

when I print something from the Alpha, it seems to work ok, except that
nothing prints. When I do lpc status I get:
lp3:
printer is on remote host arthur.spcc.com with name mis_lj4
queuing is enabled
printing is enabled
1 entry in spool area

This never changes, the file never goes away. Nothing ever gets to the VAX.
Any ideas???
TIA!!!
