LSM root disk mirroring?

Dear Managers,

We are about to try mirroring our root disk using LSM under UNIX
3.2A. Any comments about whether people thing this is a good/bad
thing. Digital tried to do it for us a while back and got errors
(don't know specifically what they were). Given that they had
problems does anyone have any advice or a sequence that worked
for them?

Has anyone put a plan together on how to restore such a root disk
from vdump backup and the install CD?
