3.2 -> 3.2a upgrade problems...

Well, I finally had time to try play with Dec Unix 3.2 and wanted to put
the latest version I had on our AlphaStation 200 4/100. Unfortunately I'm
having a few problems.

Background:
  AlphaStation 200 4/100
  Firmware 4.2
installed all subsets off the 3.2 distribution
  Dec RZ25M
  Quantum XP32150
  Dec RRD43
  /etc/fstab entry for cdrom:
        /dev/rz4c /mnt cdfs ro 0 0
trying to install "Complementary Products for DEC OSF/1 March 1995"

I'm trying to follow the directions in the Installation Guide (boot into
single user mode, /sbin/bcheckrc). But when I try to do a mount or
installupdate, I get the following:

        # mount /mnt
        cdfs_mount: Unknown descriptor type
/dev/rz4c on /mnt: No valid filesystem exists on this partition
        # installupdate /dev/rz5c
Cannot locate update information on /updmnt

If I try to do a setld, I get:

        # setld -l /dev/rz5c
setld: Device /dev/rz5c not supported for installations.
        setld: cannot initialize /dev/rz5c

I was able to install 3.2 from the same machine with no problem. I can
also access the Alpha Freeware cdrom with no problem.

Am I missing something here? Did I just get an unhappy pressing of the disk?

Thanks, any help appreciated.
