Netscape and Mosaic problems

     I am having problems configuring and getting Netscape and Mosaic to
     run properly. I have both running on OSF/1 V3.0, Alpha 3000/600,
     USRobotics 28.8 modem, Netscape 1.0N, Mosaic 2.4, and a dial up line
     to our service provider.
     
     Now the problem. Once connected to the service provider, I am not
     able to go beyond that site to anywhere else. When I click on one of
     the links to another site, Netscape returns with:
     
        Unable to locate host and an ERROR message about the name server
        and SOCKS host.
     
     If there is anyone who can lend some light, it would be much
     appreciated.
