Changing the input silo size

Hi,

Earlier this week there was someone who asked what the following was

ace0: input silo overflow

The answer given was that this was a flow control problem over the serial
device being used with reference to the stty man page being the solution.

I continually get the same problem. I find it amazing that a 200Mhz alpha
PC not running anything other than 3 DECterm sessions should need flow
control for a 38400 baud slip connection. I also find it very strange
that the serial devices do not support any speed higher than 38400 when
your basic 486 PC have supported 57600 (and higher) for quite a while now.

I have had a suggestion of getting a terminal server (90TL) to establish the
slip connection but I really don't what to do that ($$$).

It would seem to me that if the input silo size could be increased the
need for flow control would go away (at least in my case). Trying to find
any documentaion on this has proven very difficult.

If someone knows how to increase the input silo size of a 'ace' device
please let me know.

Thanks!
