We are trying to use Chameleon NFS from NetManage (with Windows 3.1 or
3.1.1 on a variety of 486 and pentium PCs) with with an Alpha 2100
server running Digital Unix 3.2. It mostly works, but mounting the
Unix file system on the PC takes forever (about a minute or longer)
and sometimes we get failures when trying to copy files between Unix
and the PC. When failures occur, the same copy will succeed minutes
or hours later, with no intervention in the meantime.
We have several other Unix servers (Mips, SCO, Sequent PTX) and have
no such problems with the other servers, just the Alpha. NetManage
has been zero help. Anybody have any ideas?
