help with monitor (cross posting)

hi there,

        I had a 19" color monitor on DEC 5000/240 and I changed it to a 17"
grayscale/monochrome monitor. (The one dec sells) Now All I get on display is
some junk lines. I did connect the green wire to the monitor. I don't
understand what is the problem. The monitor use to work on a different alpha
machine. (I swapped the monitors with that machine and color one works fine
on alpha) Is there any changes I need to make in kernel to make it work.
